Arizona Chapter President
Hi, I am Longjun Jiang, a senior student from Hamilton high school. Currently I
am a senior student serving for a student government. I helped to promote school spirit and gather ideas and information from classmates regarding school events, dances, themes, etc. and organized them with the student executive board.
As a student, I have been extensively involved in my school community, which has allowed me to develop strong interpersonal skills. My involvement in various events, including Link crew leader, drama club, school library club, youth art council and youth service at Tumbleweed Recreation Center, has allowed me to work closely with my peers while supporting the school and district community as a whole. I am also a member of the National Honor Society, which is not only an honor for me, but will also help me achieve more challenging goals through leadership skills and community service. I have been playing piano for 8 years and will pursue the piano level 12 exam this year. During my free time, I like to play golf, hiking and traveling.
I joined Aerovate to make my community a better place. Recently, I and student volunteers have hosted a few charitable performances - Light of Music at a local senior service center.
Arizona Chapter Vice President
My name is Borong (Steven) Zhang, a sophomore from BASIS Mesa in Mesa, Arizona. Math, physics, and micro- and macroeconomics are my primary interest, and I’ve competed both locally and nationally in these areas. I founded and captained my school’s regional first-year champion Science Olympiad team, and personally placed first in five of my six events. Along with three other students, I placed first in the Arizona Economics Challenge and made the top six in the national competition. As for mathematics, I’m an active participant in our MathCounts team and placed fourth at the regional competitions this year. In my free time, I enjoy the violin and badminton.
I decided to join Aerovate because I’m always looking for ways to give back to my community through education. This program provides the perfect opportunity to help students in need to achieve the same success in subjects they’re interested in.
